1. Badrinath Temple

The Badrinath temple is a part of Chota Char Dham and Char Dham Yatra. Hindu devotees have considered this temple of Uttarakhand a pilgrimage for ages by Hindu devotees. Badrinath is a small temple town located in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Also, the majestic river Alaknanda flows next to the temple. There are two peaks around the temple – Nar and Narayan. 2. Rameswaram Ramanathaswamy Temple

This beautiful temple makes an easy entry into the top 50 famous temples of India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been built during Lord Rama’s time. The rulers of the Pandya dynasty expanded it centuries ago. Also, its prominence is due to the fact that it is a part of the 12 Jyotirlingas along with the Charms Dham. Out of the 12 Jyotirlingas, five are located around Pune. Although it is an ancient temple, it has such a beautiful architectural style that it is comparable to the beauty of modern architecture. This temple can be included in any list of top 50 famous temples of India.

3. Vaishno Devi Temple

This is the famous temple of Vaishno Devi in ​​the beautiful land of Jammu and Kashmir. Since it is on the summit of Trikuta mountain, most of the devotees travel 13 km to reach the temple. This temple is in the form of a cave. Many believe that Vaishno Devi is the most prominent Shaktipeeth. It is the most visited temple in Northern India which is definitely one of the top 50 famous temples in India.

4. Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath temple is a part of Chota Char Dham. It is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas (what are they?) And devotees worship the Shri Kedareshwar avatar of Lord Shiva here. As well as one of the Padal Petra Stalams, the temple is close to the sacred river Mandakini. According to belief, this temple has been established since the era of Mahabharata.

The pilgrims receive more than 4 lakh pilgrims during the 45-day travel period during the Shravan and Shravani Mela.

The Meenakshi Temple of Goddess Parvati and Lord Sundareswarar have an estimated 33,000 statues. An ancient masterpiece of the Dravidian architectural style, it is one of the most famous temples in India. The linga of Lord Sundareswarar is one of the 68 Swayambhu lingas of India.

The temple is also dedicated to the Ganges River and is at an elevation of 3048 meters above sea level. While the location makes the journey to this revered temple difficult, it is always worth it. 10. Yamunotri Temple

Another temple in Devbhoomi (Land of Gods) is Uttaranchal Yamunotri Temple. Often cited in close association with Yamunotri, it is also the origin of a sacred river – Yamuna. The temple of Goddess Yamuna is at an altitude of 3291 meters. Around the temple are dense forests of the Himalayan ranges. It is one of the 4 temples that form the Chota Char Dham.

11. Tirupati Balaji

Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple is one of the most popular and sacred Vaishnava temple in the world. In this temple, devotees worship Lord Venkateswara. Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple is on the summit of the Tirumala hill which is also known as Venkatadri. It is a beautiful, ancient temple and one of the most famous temples in India.
